Luxembourg’s Kiwanis clubs are joining in!
Created to support cancer research, particularly into leukaemia in children, Télévie in Luxembourg celebrated its 25th anniversary this year. As is the case every year, the Kiwanis clubs were there, contributing countless hours of voluntary work alongside hundreds of local volunteers to the cause and raising funds to boost the total.
What a day! Whilst Télévie involves fundraising activities throughout the year, the day itself and the grand closing evening are truly moving.
To everyone’s delight, Grand Duke Guillaume and Grand Duchess Stéphanie honoured the event with their presence, taking the time to listen to experts and patients alike, and even picking up the phone to speak to donors.
Diane Wunsch, Télévie coordinator – affectionately known as Madame Télévie – and president of the Kiwanis Club Hesper Roude Léiw, summed up her involvement in these words: “You do something like this with your heart; otherwise, you wouldn’t do it at all.”
During the friendship dinner, organized by the Luxembourg Kiwanis Foundation that preceded the Grand Finale, KCF Trustee Markus Lanz presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Nathalie Frisch, a member of the Kiwanis Club Hesper Roude Léiw and president of the Kiwanis Luxembourg Foundation (the body that collects donations for Télévie, amongst other causes) for her commitment and dedication to Kiwanis and, of course, to the Kiwanis Children’s Fund. Also in the spotlight were Bernard and Josée Altmann, who have clocked up countless hours of voluntary work and always give you such a warm welcome!
Last but not least, over the last 25 years of Télévie in Luxembourg, a total of €33,937,566 has been raised for cancer research!
Well done to everyone who, over the years, has helped to advance cancer research, particularly research into childhood cancer!
